Shell Store Victim of Burglary

LIBERTY, June 24, 2014 - On Saturday, June 21, 2014 at approximately 2:15 am Liberty Police Department received a phone call in reference to an alarm at 1520 HWY 90 in Liberty. Officers arrived and found that the business was broken into.

Liberty Police Department met with a State Trooper who observed three males run from the area of the store wearing masks.

State Trooper Prantil was able to apprehend one male in the parking lot of the Inn at Liberty Motel identified as Zuri Lapharius Warfield 18 years of age from Houston.

During the investigation it was found that three black males that broken into the store wearing all black clothing and masks covering their faces. The males left with approximately 80 packs of cigarettes from the business on foot.

Burglary Tools recovered in the parking lot of the Inn at Liberty Motel.

Liberty Police Department was able to recover property stolen from the business and returned the property to the owner. Zuri Warfield was arrested for Burglary of a Building and transported to Liberty County Jail.  The case still under investigation at this time.
