Drug Deal Gone Bad at Wal-Mart
LIBERTY, December 8, 2014 - Saturday night and into early Sunday morning the City of Liberty Police Department made several drug arrests that all got started with a drug deal gone bad at Wal-Mart.
The department was called to Wal-Mart for a theft in progress. A GMC Yukon had pulled up near a pickup and was removing items from the pickup and placing them in the Yukon.

The Officer opened the glove box of the vehicle and found a .22 caliber handgun and called for backup. Witnesses stated that Rhoades had brandished the gun at Bradley Potetz.
The owners of the pickup came out of Wal-Mart and claimed they had called a wrecker to assist them with their locked vehicle.

Potetz was located inside the store and brought outside.
The owners of the Dodge pickup were inside the store and stated they had given Potetz a ride up to Wal-Mart to sell some people some drugs.
Adjacent to where the Potetz subject and the Rhodes subject were standing there was small, metal canister sitting on top of a tire that contained 6 Oxycodone tablets and approximately 13 Xanax tablets. Both claimed it was not theirs and then each started blaming the other for it.
Officers then received permission to search the Dodge pickup and in the door pocket found a fully loaded syringe with a clear liquid that tested positive for methamphetamine where Potetz had been sitting.
Dustin Rhoades was arrested, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, two counts and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.
Robert Bradley Potetz age 27 was arrested and charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Potetz told Officers his truck, a white GMC, was broken down in the Liberty City Hall Parking lot which lead to a second arrest the same night.
