Do You Want to Become a Texas Peace Officer?

LIBERTY, October 28, 2014 – The Liberty Police Department will be partnering with the College of the Mainland to conduct a Basic Police Officer Academy beginning February 2015 and ending in November 2015. This is a night academy from 6:00pm to 10:00pm Monday through Friday and an average of two Saturdays a month. This is a state certified academy consisting of 769 hours of training.

Upon successful completion of the academy students will take the Texas Peace Officer state exam. Those who pass the state exam will become licensed Texas peace officers. The cost of the academy is approximately $2000.

We will be holding an information meeting at the Liberty Police Department, 1906 Lakeland, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 6:00pm. Please attend this meeting if you are interested and meet the qualifications. If you are unable to attend the meeting, but are interested in the academy call 936-336-5666 and ask for Frances Wood or Lt. Ewing.
