Dayton Community Food Pantry needs community help! DAYTON, April 23, 2014 – The volunteers who run the nonprofit organization are seeking assistance from individuals, churches, businesses and other civic organizations. The Dayton Community Food Pantry serves hungry families who reside in the 77535 zip code with groceries. Since November 2012, the pantry has served over 458 families. On average, 126 families return monthly for assistance. The pantry has a database that tracks the individuals and families that request food and services to eliminate those who attempt to abuse the system. This data could be very helpful for local service organizations and churches who frequently have people stop in for money, food, utility and/or housing assistance. The pantry is open every Monday and the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. On behalf of the volunteers, a strong plea is going out for assistance with the following:

A receipt will be returned indicating the amount donated and the Employer Identification information needed for tax purposes.
