Murder Conviction

ANAHUAC, October 28, 2014 – Sheriff Brian C. Hawthorne reports that Larry Dewayne Brinkley 56 of Houston was convicted in Judge Randy McDonald’s 344th District Court and was sentenced to 20 years for the murder of Leslie “Bubby” Larrison.

Mr. Larrison, a native of Anahuac, was unarmed when he was shot and killed by Brinkley during an argument on the 31st of January 2014 resulting from a traffic incident. Through the combined efforts of the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney Chery Lieck’s office, justice was served in a senseless crime. Brinkley remains in the Chambers County Jail awaiting transfer to the Texas Department of Corrections.
