Fake Refund Results in Arrest

LIBERTY, January 21, 2014 - The Liberty Police were summoned to the Wal-Mart store in Liberty on January 18, 2014 by Wal-Mart employees for a woman who allegedly obtained and false refund.

According to Police Sheril Mensch was observed by Wal-Mart employees going into the store empty handed, selecting an item and taking it to the service counter for a refund.

The refund was given to her in cash and she was confronted and detained when she stopped into the McDonald’s inside the store before leaving. All of this occurred around 3:20 in the afternoon when Wal-Mart employees called the police. Mensch was arrested for Theft of Property with Previous Conviction and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
