Jeff Leblanc Announces his Candidacy

LIBERTY, February 12, 2014 - I am Jeff LeBlanc and I am running to be your representation in the Republican Party of Liberty County as Precinct Chairman. Although I do not have the name recognition of my opponent, I would like to remind the constituents of precinct 22 that I have been a lifelong conservative who has fought in the trenches for the values we all hold dear. While my opponent was holding office as a Democrat, I was a Republican doing the very thing I do to this day: preserving our liberty. Among other activities, I founded and currently chair the pro-liberty GOP organization, the Republican Liberty Caucus of CD 36. I am not a conservative Republican by convenience, it's who I am as a matter of principal. My opponent cannot make that claim. I would also like to highlight an issue that my opponent failed to address at the event. Most people are unaware of how important the role of a precinct chair is. It is not a cross-party position, but rather is a directly held Republican position that helps shape and mold the direction our party moves. I cannot imagine that the people of our precinct want to entrust our conservative values with an individual who is a lifelong Democrat, turned Republican for political convenience. Her statement that she would call her friends to vote, if elected, is insufficient. The role of precinct chair is far more important than to simply include your friends. The precinct doesn't merely belong to one's friends, but to all of us. And as a precinct chair, we need someone who looks beyond their own inner circle, and is eager to include everyone. The direction the party takes isn't about any selective group of individuals, but rather the collective. We're all affected by what the leadership in the Republican Party does, so we all need to have our voices heard. Leaving such a responsibility to a small group of one's own friends is not only irresponsible and self-serving, it ignores the will of those whom are not considered as such. Our precinct needs a lifelong conservative who wants to reach out to everyone. We need a leader whom wants your voice heard along with their friends. If a party isn't there to represent the needs of everyone, friend or otherwise, then it's not doing its job. When party leadership only cares for the opinions of those within their inner-circle, it's making it plain and clear that they are not concerned with what you think. I want to change that, and that's why I need your vote. If you're complacent with a party that isn't concerned with you opinions, and whom supports liberal ideology, then by all means, my opponent is the right choice for you. But if you, like myself, are fed up with a party that doesn't represent your values and convictions, and one whom has ignored your voice because they don't consider you a “friend”, then I need your help in shaking up the establishment. If we work together, we can accomplish anything. We have the power to send a message to the county GOP leadership that our voices will be heard. We're not interested in watered down values and exclusionary politics. It's our party. Let's take it back. Please like and share with all of your friends in precinct 22.
