Ripkowski Family Marker To Be Dedicated

DAYTON, April 28, 2014 - The Stash and Mattie Ripkowski Family will be honored by the Liberty County Historical Commission with a county historical marker dedication on Saturday, May 3rd, 10:00 a.m. at the Dayton Community Center, WWII Memorial.  The marker was sponsored by the Mu Iota Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma International through the commission.  There will also be a second dedication for the Ripkowski Brothers’ Memorial Trees marker honoring their military service as well as a street dedication.

Stash and Mattie Ripkowski were first generation Americans.  They raised sixteen children in the Dayton area having moved to the Eastgate community in 1932 to farm.  This family was passionately patriotic with the nine oldest sons serving in the military during WWII, two sons during the Korean War and one during peacetime.  All of the Ripkowski bothers miraculously returned home safely.

The Liberty County Historical Commission would like to invite the public to attend this special dedication honoring this extraordinary family which is an inspiration to all patriotic Americans!
