Wadzeck To Speak At County Historical Commission Meeting

LIBERTY, April 16, 2014 - Caroline Wadzeck, author of The Streets of Dayton, Texas: History By the Block will be the guest speaker at the quarterly meeting of the Liberty County Historical Commission on Monday evening, April 21st, 6:00 p.m. in the Liberty County Community Center, 318 San Jacinto Street in Liberty.  A book signing will follow Mrs. Wadzeck’s review of her book which covers a history of Dayton citizens for which streets were named. 

The Liberty County Historical Commission meets quarterly on the 3rd Monday in January, April, July and October in the Liberty County Community Center where they recently opened an office.    Commission Committees will report on cemetery preservation, marker applications, archaeology and other areas of historical preservation in Liberty County.  Meetings of the LCHC are open to the public and county residents are encouraged to attend and participate.  For more information concerning meetings, programs  or commission appointments, please contact Linda Jamison, County Chairman at 936-258-9141 or email:  linda4aud@imsday.com .
