LCSO Investigates Possible Stolen Horse

LIBERTY, April 7, 2014 – Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy Ruben Arellano responded early this morning to a reported missing horse on CR 486 in south Liberty County. Initially, from talking to the owner, it was unknown if a fence had been cut or had just broken down and allowed an expensive red and white paint horse, named “Lacey” and pregnant to wander off in nearby woods. “Lacey” is described by the owner as having a “blaze” face with all four “stockings” on her legs with a white mane. She is reported to be 8 years old, 15.0 hands and approximately 1200 lbs.

Later today, Deputy Arellano re-contacted the horse owner who provided Deputy Arellano with additional information which the owner feels now points more towards “Lacy” being stolen rather than just wandering away. The case is under investigation and the Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone who may see this horse or has any information to report it to the LCSO at (936) 336-4500.
