Leroy Hanel Announces Candidacy
Growing up in Eastgate and working with my father in the farming industry he instilled my hardworking ethics in me at a very young age. I was taught and still believe that any job, no matter how large or small, takes hard work and dedication. These work ethics have followed me through my farming career and my employment with Liberty County.
During the years of 1986 to 2000 I was employed by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department. During my 14 year career with the department I spent one year as a jailer, one year as a bailiff, two years as a patrol officer, three years as a Sergeant, and seven years as Captain. As Captain I was responsible for managing 76 employees, conducting monthly meetings, and community group meetings for safety and awareness along with managing the daily activities and responsibilities of the Sheriff’s office.
I have also worked in the construction and demolition field. During this time I worked as a safety coordinator and heavy equipment operator. I was also responsible for making bids on future work sites.
As a resident of Precinct 4 I want to see positive changes come to our community. I will work diligently for the tax payers and strive to better our Precinct. Please vote for me, Leroy Hanel, on March 4th. Your vote will be greatly appreciated.
