LIBERTY, July 3, 2014 – THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY THERE IS A HIGHER PROBABILITY FOR THE GREATER AREAL COVERAGE OF RAIN SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY FROM THURSDAY ON INTO THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. THE MAIN THREATS FOR THE STRONGEST FOURTH OF JULY THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE HIGH RAINFALL RATES LEADING TO STREET FLOODING...FREQUENT LIGHTNING...AND GUSTY DOWNBURST WINDS IN EXCESS OF 35 MPH. FIREWORKS DISPLAYS MAY OR MAY NOT BE AFFECTED BY RAIN AND STORMS AS THE STRONGEST CONVECTION WILL BE FUELED BY AFTERNOON HEAT...THUS MOST ACTIVITY WILL WANE TO BELOW HAZARDOUS LEVELS AROUND SUNSET. PARTIES WITH INTERESTS IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES OVER INDEPENDENCE DAY SHOULD CLOSELY MONITOR SUBSEQUENT FORECASTS CONCERNING THIS POTENTIAL FOR HAZARDOUS HOLIDAY WEATHER.
