Southeast Texas Forecast

LIBERTY, December 31, 2014 - We've had some callers today concerned about wintry precipitation this week for our forecast area which includes much of SE Texas (green counties on attached map). Just want to be clear that we are NOT anticipating any ice over our forecast area as we head into the New Year.

Forecast scenario...generally looking for cold dry conditions tonight...with just slight chances of very light precipitation moving in from the west on Wednesday. Better chances for rain will be in the Thursday through Saturday morning time frame. It will be cold but should remain above freezing as the rain falls so there are no concerns about ice at this time.

As always stay tuned for the latest forecasts. If travelling well toward the north and west pay careful attention to forecasts for those areas as there are watches, warnings and advisories in effect for winter weather (mainly west of I-35 at the time of this writing).
