Car Fire in Liberty
LIBERTY, February 1, 2014 - Saturday February 1, 2014 the City of Liberty Fire Department was dispatched to the Panther Stop Convenience Store on US 90 at Bowie Street for a car fire.
A City of Liberty Police Officer who was conducting a traffic stop around 5:45 pm witnessed the fire.
According to Police a gray Ford Taurus pulled into the Panther Stop and the occupants, a Liberty family, went inside the store. When they came out they got into the car leaving the parking lot onto Bowie Street.
Their vehicle was leaking fuel as they left the parking lot on the ground and they quickly pulled back into the Panther Stop parking lot where the car caught on fire and burned.
The Liberty Fire Department with an engine and an ambulance arrived and quickly put out the fire.
The vehicle was destroyed.
