Arson in Dayton

DAYTON, November 19, 2014 – Officers of the Dayton Police Department responded to a family disturbance at Heavens Way Trailer Park in the 1500 block of Winfree Street involving a boyfriend and girlfriend Chelsea Halon of Smithville, TX and Robert Daily of Rosenberg, TX.

The argument was over keys to a vehicle. When Officer Boufford and Ibarra Arrived it was learned Halon was trying to leave and Daily was preventing her from leaving by holding her keys. The officers had him release the keys and she gathered a few items and she left the property.

Later at Approximately 3:00 PM Officers and the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the same location in reference to the trailer being on fire. When Officer Arrived it was learned Daily was seen running from the trailer just moments before the trailer started smoking.

After a short search of the area Daily was located and detained. Daily was shortly thereafter arrested for Arson and transported to the Liberty County Jail without incident.

Daily's Bond was set at $50,000 dollars.
