Dayton Chamber September Happenings

LIBERTY, September 16, 2014 – The Dayton Chamber would like to announce the beginning of Homework Depot, on Sept. 22nd. Homework Depot was a great success last year. Some DISD students that needed extra help utilized the program and were successful in their school year The Homework Depot team was led by Mrs. Karen Hare, a retired teacher and The Dayton Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year for 2014. We finished off the school year with about 20 students receiving help from the Homework Depot. It is our hope that as word spreads about tutoring at Homework Depot, our volunteer list will expand as well.

The Dayton Chamber would like to invite any students in need of volunteer or community service hours to help with Homework Depot. The hours are flexible Mon-Thur. beginning at 2:45 to 5:00 pm. Students that wish to volunteer for peer on peer tutoring can volunteer as many times a week or month as they would like. Tutoring takes place at the Dayton Chamber of Commerce in the conference room and we are located at the Dayton Community Center 801 S. Cleveland St..
