Cool Front Coming Our Way LIBERTY, October 1, 2014 – According to Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Branch, there is a cold front on the way through Thursday night into Friday. Right now it looks like a line of storms may form along the front Thursday night primarily after midnight. This largely depends on the speed of the front so the storms could be moving into the area sooner than midnight. The first graphic in the attached PDF shows the front at the coast by 7AM and this looks to be on track. The 2nd graphic shows the SPC outlook which has most of our area in a slight risk mainly for damaging winds and hail with any severe storms that develop. Again this looks to be an overnight/early morning event. The 3rd slide shows how much rainfall is expected and generally think 0.5 to 1.0 inches. Storms will be moving so do not see a flood threat. Again we just wanted to provide a heads up as end of the week activities ramp up headed into the weekend.
