How to Identify City of Liberty Workers

LIBERTY, April 8, 2014 - Following up on the theft at a home in Liberty yesterday in which approximately $24,000 worth of jewels and furs were taken by two individuals posing as City employees, today City Manager Gary Broz held a news conference at City Hall to inform the public about city policies and practices.

Broz told the group that all City employees have a identification badge and Mayor Carl Pickett told the group that residents are encouraged to aggressively ask for identification when approached.

City Manager Broz also stated that City employees are not supposed to go into homes.

Furthermore city employees wear uniforms. The Electrical Department wears khaki shirts, Water Department wears blue shirts and blue jeans, Parks Department wears green shirts, Fire Department wears black shirts and the Police Department wears navy blue shirts and pants.

All city vehicles also have the City of Liberty emblem on the outside so that they can be easily recognized.
