Woman Arrested for Stealing Auto Parts

LIBERTY, April 1, 2014 - On March 29, 2014 City of Liberty Police were summoned to Wal-Mart in Liberty for an accused shoplifter store employees had detained.

According to Detective Jennifer Bowles, Tammy Burkett had gone through the store concealing several items of merchandise and exited the store without paying for them. Taken in this theft were a steering wheel cover, auto seat cover and air freshener totaling $57.64.

Burkett age 37 of Liberty was confronted as she left the store around 2:30 PM in the afternoon. She was charged with Organized Retail Theft and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
