Early Morning Arrest at the Chevron

LIBERTY, July 12, 2014 - Around 3:00 AM on Saturday morning the clerk at the Chevron Convenience Store became concerned with a vehicle that parked adjacent to the gas pumps on the west side of the store and just sat there for a long period of time. Then the vehicle moved to the pumps on the east side of the store and did the same things.

The City of Liberty Police were notified and responded to check out the suspicious vehicle.

Corporal Frank Longoria responded as did an Officer from the Dayton Police Department who happened to be nearby.

The driver identified as Krystal Bridges age 32 who is currently residing at the Sands Motel in Dayton occupied the vehicle. Bridges claimed that she was waiting for a friend to come from Moss Bluff to meet her.

According to the Officers investigating the situation Bridges seemed nervous and was ask to get out of her vehicle while talking on her cell phone.

 

Looking into the back of the vehicle Corporal Longoria noticed a pill that appeared to be prescription medication.

Further investigation revealed a small, metal box with a lid similar to an Altoids Mint Box inside the vehicle.

The metal box contained a white powdery substance thought to be methamphetamine and a short soda straw.

Bridges was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
