Bad Weather Hits North End of the County

LIBERTY, August 12, 2014 – Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Branch was busy Monday afternoon sending out advisories over the Nixle System keeping the public advised concerning strong storms with high winds moving through the area of Tarkington from  SH 105 all  the way north to FM 787.

Apparently according to Branch one such storm was responsible for sending a tree crashing into a mobile home in a mobile home park in Tarkington.

An ambulance was dispatched to care for the injured and two adults were transported to a Kingwood Hospital for treatment.

The Tarkington and Cypress Lakes Volunteer Fire Departments were also dispatched to the scene to assist in the rescue of those involved.
