Ambulance Collides with Truck near Cleveland
CLEVELAND, July 29, 2014 - At 2:34 PM on Tuesday afternoon, a Liberty County EMS ambulance in route to a call on FM 2610 collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of FM 787 and FM 2518 east of Cleveland.
According to Liberty County EMS Director Mike Koen, the ambulance was traveling eastbound on FM 787 and the pickup truck made a left turn in front of them.
There were two medics and one student on board at the time and the pickup truck was occupied by its’ driver.
The two medics were both transported by ground to Hermann Hospital in serious but stable condition. Life Flight was unable to fly due to weather conditions in the Houston area.
The one student and the driver of the pickup had minor injuries and were taken by ground ambulance to a Kingwood Hospital for treatment.
Two ambulances were dispatched to handle this accident and were occupied while two ambulance calls came in from the Dayton area. The City of Liberty EMS provided mutual aid to cover those calls while Liberty County EMS covered the accident near Cleveland.
