Accident Fannin at MLK

LIBERTY, April 1, 2014 – Just as the bad weather on Friday night of the Jubilee was rolling into town, around 7:28 PM, a two-vehicle accident occurred on MLK at Fannin Streets in Liberty.

According to Detective Jennifer Bowles of the City of Liberty Police Department a white pickup traveling east on MLK attempted a left turn onto Fannin Street and pulled into the path of a westbound Ford Expedition. The two vehicles crashed in the intersection of the two streets.

Liberty Police and EMS responded to the scene and transported four children who were passengers in the Expedition ages 4, 7, 9 and 17 to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Both vehicles suffered heavy damage in the accident.

The driver of the Expedition was Ellen Brooks age 31 of Liberty and the white pickup was driven by Colton Kelly age 20 of Runge, TX.

Kelly received a citation for Failed to Yield Right of Way Making a Left Turn and No Insurance.
