Early Morning One-Vehicle Accident
LIBERTY, September 13, 2013 - It was shortly before 1:00 AM when City of Liberty Police and EMS responded to a one-vehicle accident on US 90 in the Trinity River Bottom where a woman had been ejected from her vehicle.
According to Officer Frank Longoria of City of Liberty Police Hope Haley age 27 of Hull was driving a 2002 Lexus SUV accompanied by her husband Jordan Haley after leaving the Empty Pockets Saloon on Beaumont Ave. in Liberty and going to Dayton then returning home when her vehicle left the roadway to the left and traveled through the median taking out several Crepe Myrtles.
As Haley attempted to pull the vehicle back into the eastbound lanes the Lexus SUV rolled over the Hope Haley was ejected from the vehicle. Her injuries resulted in her being transported by Life Flight to Houston’s Hermann Hospital for treatment.
Jordan Haley suffered numerous lacerations from broken glass.
It was not known at first where the accident was in the river bottom and both Dayton Police and Liberty County EMS responded as well.
According to Officer Longoria the possibility of alcohol as a factor in the accident will be the focus in the continuing investigation into it's cause.
