Sheriff’s Department Pursuit Ends in Liberty

LIBERTY July 31, 2013 - Monday afternoon a Sheriff’s Department Deputy noticed a gold Ford Ranger Pickup run all the red lights on US 90 in Dayton traveling east on US 90. The Deputy caught up with the vehicle in the Trinity River bottom and notified a DPS Trooper that was in Liberty to stop the vehicle.

As the vehicle entered Liberty the Trooper gave pursuit that ended on MLK Street and Oklahoma Streets in the City of Liberty around 1:47 PM Monday afternoon.

The driver of the vehicle Glenn Edward Wickliff age 54 of Liberty County was taken into custody on charges of Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle as well as other outstanding warrants and transported to the Liberty County Jail.

Bond was set at $20,000 dollars on the Evading charge.

LCSO and DPS were assisted by the Liberty Police Department.
