Dayton Community Food Pantry Receives Grant from Walmart

LIBERTY, March 28, 2013 - The newly established Dayton Community Food Pantry receives support from one of Liberty Counties' leading retail stores. The Walmart Foundation supports community charitable organizations that strives to give back locally through their commitment to operating globally. The grants awarded to organizations of all sizes in communities around the globe. The Foundation's key areas of focus are Hunger Relief and Healthy Eating, Sustainability, Women's Economic Empowerment and Career Opportunity. Dayton Community Food Pantry's purpose aligns perfectly with the Foundation's focus and the pantry was awarded $400.00 on March 28, 2013. Steven Daniels, Liberty Store Manager, says, "We are glad to be able to help our community feed hungry families."

A special appreciation is extended to the Walmart Foundation, specifically the Walmart Store # 1186, for their support of the Dayton Community Food Pantry whose purpose is to help return dignity to the family by alleviating hunger in low income families by giving a weeks worth of food each month to help them stretch their dollar and have fewer nights of going to bed hungry. The pantry stores the food, whether donated to, or bought by , the pantry, until it can be given out to the families. The pantry is located at 602 Hwy 90 West, in Dayton Texas.
