Truck With No Driver Crashed on Beaumont Ave.
LIBERTY, November 3, 2013 - Around 4:00 AM on Sunday a pickup truck with three occupants and no driver crashed in the 2800 block of Beaumont Ave. Two of the three occupants each claimed to be the front seat passenger in the vehicle even though the pickup was equipped with bucket seats and a large center console.
According to Officer Aguilar of the City of Liberty Police Department the pickup was eastbound on Beaumont Ave. when it left the roadway to the left and crashed into the ditch rolling over on its’ side.
According to Public Records the pickup is registered to Aaron & Juan Lopez of Reese Street in Liberty.
City of Liberty Ambulance responded to the scene but luckily no one needed transport to the hospital.
The Fire Department responded to the scene due to the fact the occupants were entrapped in their vehicle and had to be extracted.
The occupants of the vehicle told i-dineout.com they were heading home after a long night out when the accident occurred.
One of the occupants of the vehicle was Kevin Samuel Martinez age 23 of Liberty who was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication.
Found on Aaron Jabeier Lopez age 25 was a baggy containing a substance that test positive for Cocaine. Jabeier was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Edward Jesus Gerardo age 20 of Liberty was being arrested and advised to give up any prohibited substance no allowed in a jail prior to transport. However, once at the jail a search produced a baggy in his front shirt pocket containing a prohibited item in a correctional facility. He was charged with that offense which is a felony.
Officer Augilar notified i-dineout.com late Sunday that after further investigation the driver of the vehicle was Kevin Samuel Martinez who was arrested for Public Intoxication. Charges againt Martinez will now be escalated to Felony DWI.
