House Bill 1503 Revises Air Conditioning and Electrical Advisory Boards
AUSTIN, August 27, 2013 - House Bill 1503, passed by the 83rd Texas Legislature, amended Chapter 1302 and Chapter 1305 of the Texas Occupations Code. The bill revises the membership of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors Advisory Board and the Electrical Safety and Licensing Advisory Board.
The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors Advisory Board now consists of nine members, an increase of two members. One of the new positions to the board is a building contractor, principally engaged in home construction and is a member of a statewide building trade association. The amendment also included the addition of another full-time licensed air conditioning and refrigeration contractor, bringing that number to five on the board.
The change to the Electrical Safety and Licensing Advisory Board is the new requirement of a public member who is a building contractor engaging in home construction and a member of a statewide building trade association. The number of Electrical Safety and Licensing Advisory Board members is not changed and remains nine (9).
The amendments to Chapter 1302 and Chapter 1305 became effective June 14, 2013.
