TABC Conducts Undercover Operation in Dayton

DAYTON, October 25, 2013 - On Friday October 18th 2013 the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission (TABC) conducted an undercover compliance sting in south Liberty County. The TABC used young looking Confidential Informants (CI) under the age of twenty-one to enter an establishment and attempt to purchase alcohol from the clerk behind the sales counter. If the CI was able to make a purchase the establishment was issued a TABC citation for the license violation and the clerk was arrested for Alcohol Beverage Code 106.03 “Sale to a Minor” Class “A” Misdemeanor.

During the operation the TABC checked on and investigated several convenient stores and businesses inside the City of Dayton. Officer Ibarra of the Dayton Police Department assisted with this portion of the investigation. Only one business was found not in compliance with the Alcohol Beverage Code. The Raceway #6766 on US 90 in Dayton did have a clerk, Weisinger, Amy Diane sale to the CI. The clerk was arrested and charged by the Dayton Police Department for ABC 106.03 Sale to a Minor class “A”.

The Dayton Police Department would like to thank the TABC for taking an interest in stopping the under age drinking and the sale of alcohol to minors in the city of Dayton and Liberty County as a whole.
