Liberty Firefighters Receive Water Donation

LIBERTY, July 27, 2013 - Members of the Liberty fire Department unload 40 cases of bottled water (over 1,000 bottles) donated by St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. The water was given by the members of St. Stephen’s in response to hearing that the firefighters often had to purchase their own bottled water to have on hand when fighting fires.

The donation is part of an ongoing effort by St. Stephen’s to show appreciation for law enforcement, firefighters and EMS professionals. In May St. Stephen’s partnered with Texas AgriLife Extension to cook and serve hamburgers to Liberty County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies and staff. “We are so grateful for those who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe, and protect our lives and property”, commented Father Ted Smith, pastor of St. Stephen’s. “And we are trying in some small way to say ‘Thank You’”.
