Suspect Flees from Wal-Mart Caught by Police
LIBERTY, February 2, 2013 - The City of Liberty Police Department was summoned to Wal-Mart at 10:03 PM by loss prevention personnel who observed a man taking items in the store and concealing them in his clothing.
Store personnel followed the man out of the store and confronted him asking his to come back inside the store and the man became belligerent and fled into the parking lot.
An off duty aw enforcement officer Chance Maddox who had observed the man’s actions began a foot pursuit heading toward the Murphy’s Gas Station.
Liberty Police arrived on the scene and Corporal Wes O’Hanlon captured the man near the Quiznos Restaurant in the shopping center on the south side of the Wal-Mart Parking lot.
Found on his person were two bags of marijuana, some brass knuckles and merchandise taken from the store.
He was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a prohibited weapon and theft and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
Robertson has an extensive criminal record including Unauthorized use of a Vehicle, Possession of the Controled Substance, Possession of an unauthorized Weapon by a felon and has been in the custody of TDCJ Huntsville, TX on numerous occasions.
