Major Accident SH 321 at FM 686
DAYTON, June 14, 2013 - Shortly before 6:00 AM on Friday the Dayton Police Department responded to a major accident on SH 321 at FM 686 north of Dayton near the prison.
According to Chris Duos of the Dayton Police Department who investigated the accident a small, black Ford Ranger pickup traveling north on SH 321 attempted a left turn onto FM 686 and pulled into the path of a southbound Dodge Ram pickup. The vehicles collided in a glancing head on collision in the intersection.
Both the Dayton and Highway 321 Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the accident scene.
A temporary landing zone was established just north of the intersection where Life Flight landed and transported the driver of the Ford Ranger pickup to Houston for treatment of his injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver of the Dodge pickup was not injured.
The driver of the Ford pickup was Paul Alonzo age 35 of Dayton and the driver of the Dodge pickup was Jason Robert Green age 32 of Dayton.
The Ford pickup was reported stolen by it’s owner this morning and charges concerning the stolen vehicle and as well as citations in the accident are a matter of continuing investigation by the Dayton Police Department and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department.
