The Wal-Mart Report, Christmas Eve Edition

LIBERTY, December 24, 2013 - On Christmas Eve shortly before Wal-Mart closed at 8:00 PM, Asset Protection Employees at the store noticed a man with two cammo jackets pass the point of sale without paying for them. They followed him out of the store where he realized he was discovered and fled across the parking lot into the woods adjacent to the SH 146 Bypass.

City of Liberty Police Officers assisted by Liberty County Sheriff’s Department Deputies managed to locate the man in the woods still clinging to the merchandise taken from store whose value was well in excess of $50.

The man was identified as James Pennington age 25 of Baytown.

Pennington was taken into custody, charged with Organized Retail Theft and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
