Organ Consecration at FUMC Dayton

DAYTON August 14, 2013 - First United Methodist Church of Dayton through a lot of work and thoughtful consideration made the decision to purchase a new organ for their church and will have a consecration service on Sunday, August 18, 2013. The public is invited to attend.

The organ was built by European Organ Builders in the Netherlands at Johannus Organ Company and once built was shipped from Europe to Dayton, TX for installation at the church.

The organ is an impressive instrument consisting of three keyboard divisions and a pedal division. The organ has sixty-five voices including a special vox humana tremulant and is well suited to accompanying large congregations or choirs. Furthermore the organ can be switched to one or four organ styles including Romantic, Symphonic, Baroque or Historic.

Below is the disposition of the organ by division.

The church wishes to express their appreciation to thank Mrs. Betty Sterling and Mr. Jimmy Sterling for their generous donation. Come help us celebrate and listen to some special music provided by our church musicians along with a special pre-recorded piece by Mr. M. W. Ford, Jr. You won't want to miss this special Sunday. Church service starts at 10:00 AM see you there!
