Manufactured Home Burns in Moss Bluff
MOSS BLUFF July 31, 2013 – Around 4:30 AM on Wednesday morning the Moss Bluff Volunteer Fire Department was pressed into service to respond to a manufactured home fire that was fully engulfed in flames in the 300 block of CR 1335.
A fire engine from the Moss Bluff Department was first to arrive on the scene in spit of the fact the department has recently suffered from a burglary of it’s fire station reported about a month ago.
There were two manufactured homes on the small residential lot and the burning home threatened the one behind it.
Shortly the Hull Daisetta Volunteer Fire Department from Daisetta arrived first with another fire engine followed by a tank to bring water to the fire engines to fight the blaze.
i-dineout.com spoke with a nearby neighbor who claimed the property belonged to Ray Sirmons of Ray’s Place in Moss Bluff and that both homes had been unoccupied for years except for the occasional individuals who suffer from addiction issues. Furthermore the woman remarked that a similar structure just around the bend from the fire’s location had suffered the same fate only a short time ago.
