Liberty Man Arrested for Theft of Wheels

LIBERTY, September 18, 2013 - On September 16, 2013 the City of Liberty Police Department responded to a call of suspicious activity at 129 East Street in Liberty in reference to a male subject that was removing wheels from a parked vehicle.

Officer arrived to find a male subject indentified as Kevin Sowell placing tools in this vehicle in the 100 block of East Street.

Sowell claimed that his friend, Bart Moss of 129 East Street needed help removing the wheels from the vehicle and stated the car belonged to his friend.

Moss claimed he had been given permission to have the wheels removed from the vehicle and was planning to have the vehicle towed due to mechanical problems.

Officers learned that the owner of the vehicle, Krystal Storey age 30 of Baytown had been arrested at the Deluxe Inn two days earlier by Liberty Police and was in the Liberty County Jail.

The responding Officer contacted Storey in Jail who stated that she had not given permission to have the wheels removed from her light blue Chrysler 300 and wanted to press charges.

Bart Moss was arrested for Theft and transported to the Liberty County Jail. Bond was set at $5,000 dollars.
