Man Injured in Dayton Accident Early Sunday Morning
DAYTON, June 23, 2013 - The Dayton Police Department and City of Liberty EMS responded to the intersection of North Winfree and US 90 by the Jack in the Box in Dayton at 1:30 AM on Sunday morning for a one-vehicle accident.
According to Dayton Police the White Cadillac DTS was traveling east on US 90 when it drifted to the left through the intersection and left the roadway, colliding with a tall curb and side swiping a utility pole. The vehicle came to rest in the parking lot of the old gas station on the corner of that intersection.
According to public records the driver of the vehicle was James Richard Miller age 62 of Dayton, TX.
City of Liberty EMS transported the driver who appeared unresponsive to a local hospital for treatment.
Prescription bottles were found in the floor board of the vehicle in front of the driver’s seat and investigating police took possession of a loaded revolver taken from the driver’s front pants pocket prior to being transported by ambulance.
Investigating Dayton Police told i-dineout.com that the cause of the accident was, “A medical issue.”
The vehicle suffered extensive damage and numerous air bags deployed in the accident.
