Accident Closes US 90 Friday Afternoon
LIBERTY, March 22, 2013 - A major accident involving three vehicles, sending two people to the hospital, occurred on US 90 just east of the SH 146 bypass in Liberty Friday afternoon at 3:46 PM.
According to investigating Officer Jennifer Bowles a red Chevy sedan traveling west on US 90 collided with the rear end of a Chevy S-10 pickup, crashing the pickup into a Chevy Suburban as westbound traffic was stopped for the red light at the SH 146 bypass.
City of Liberty EMS responded and transported the driver of the Chevy sedan, Erica Mayes age 29 of Liberty and the driver of the Chevy Suburban, Ryan Uhlenhake age 31 and a firefighter of Devers, TX to Liberty Dayton Regional Medial Center in Liberty.
The driver of the Chevy S-10, Ryan Havener, Jr. age 55 of Liberty was not injured in the accident.
Both east and westbound lanes of US 90 were closed to traffic during the investigation and clean up of this accident.
According to Officer Bowles any citations or charges in this accident are a matter of continuing investigation and all vehicles involved were insured.
