Local Option Alcohol Election
LIBERTY, June 10, 2013 - Some have asked questions concerning the Local Option Election concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages in the City of Liberty.
According to City Secretary Dianne Tidwell the Petition was issued on June 4, 2013 and requires signatures of 35% of the registered voters, in the political subdivision, who vote in the most recent gubernatorial election. 455 valid signatures are required on this petition.
The last day for the petition to be filed with the City secretary is July 12, 2013.
City Election must be ordered at its next regular meeting date occurring 30 days on or after the date the petition was filed with the City Secretary.
In order to place on the November ballot, election must be ordered at August 13th Council Meeting.
