Police Make Arrest in Home Invasion
DAYTON, April 4, 2013 - Yesterday Liberty Police responded to the 1300 block of Lakeland in reference to a Home Invasion Robbery and Possible Kidnapping that occurred at the apartments on Lakeland and Grand Streets.
Initial investigation determined that in the late hours of Tuesday an apartment was invaded by a black male subject who was displaying a gun and forcing two adults onto the floor. Shortly thereafter it is believed that three others came in the residence, also displaying handguns.
The subjects remained in the apartment for just over an hour. During this hour all the subjects who were wearing covers over their faces went through the residence taking electronic items, a handgun, and currency from a safe. The subjects then forced the two individuals at gunpoint to go to the Wal-Mart and get money from a card. The subjects then left the victims unharmed.
Shortly after midnight on Wednesday officers with the Liberty Police Department, assisted by officers from Liberty County Sheriff’s Department arrested one subject identified as Lorenzo Foreman, age 24 out of Ames. Foreman was charged with Aggravated Robbery a first degree felony.
Investigators executed a search warrant around 4 a.m. Thursday morning on Sexton Street in Ames and recovered most of the items from the robbery. Items included, guns believed to be used by the suspects, as well as TV’s, a Laptop computer, and gaming stations which were taken from the victim’s residence.
Liberty Police are expecting more arrest in the coming days.
