Liberty County Genealogical Society Will Meet Saturday, April 20th

LIBERTY, April 9, 2013 - The Liberty County Genealogical Society will meet on Saturday, April 20th, 10:00 a.m. in the DAR meeting room behind the historic Cleveland-Partlow house on Grand Avenue. 

Special guest speaker will be Lynna Kay Shuffield of Houston, Texas.  Ms. Shuffield’s program will be “20th Century Military History & War Dead Research.” 

Lynna Kay Shuffield is a graduate of the University of Houston and attended the Rice University Navy ROTC program for four years and is a graduate of the United States Marine Corps Command & General Staff College.  She is the author of numerous articles in national, state and privately published genealogical and local history periodicals, has published several books on military history and has spoken to many genealogy and veteran groups across the state as well as appearing on television and radio programs discussing genealogy and military history.   She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
