Madlyn Simkulet Guest Speaker For Genealogical Society

LIBERTY, February 13, 2013 - Madlyn Dill Simkulet, MLS will be the guest speaker at the February 19th meeting of the Liberty County Genealogical Society.  Madlyn is a 7th generation Texas and native of Baytown, a graduate of the University of Houston and taught elementary school for several years before going into training provided by the U. S. Department of Education to become a facilitator and teacher trainer.  She received her Masters of Library Science and Computers from Sam Houston State University and was a school librarian in Houston Public Schools.  She served as head librarian for the St. Mark’s Episcopal School, Houston and upon retirement, became head librarian for the Baytown Genealogy Research Library.  She has been involved in genealogical research for many years and her true passion is cemetery research.  In addition to her own personal research, she also does free lance research for others.  Madlyn has taught private classes, group classes and workshop sessions in doing genealogical research.  Her program for LCGS is “ORGANIZE YOUR RESEARCH AND RECLAIM YOUR DINING ROOM TABLE!” 

The Liberty County Genealogical Society meets on the third Tuesday of each month in the DAR meeting room behind the historic Cleveland-Partlow House on Grand Avenue in Liberty at 10:00 a.m.  Guests and new members are welcome.  For more information email: .
