Late Night Rescue of Stranded Jet Skiers
LIBERTY, August 28, 2013 - The City of Liberty Fire Department responded to a call for help on the Trinity River around 10:30 PM on Wednesday night.
According to Fire Department personnel a call came into the department stating there were people on Jet Ski’s who became stranded on the Trinity River as much as five miles north of the US 90 bridge.
Fire Department responded with their boat putting into the water at the boat ramp adjacent to US 90 in Liberty heading north to begin the process of locating the stranded jet skiers.
According to Assistant Fire Chief Brian Hurst, the jet skiers were located on a sand bar in the river approximately seven miles north of US 90 where their jet skies had experienced trouble.
They were towed back to the boat ramp at US 90 with the entire ordeal ending just after 2:00 AM Thursday morning.
