Major Accident on US 90 West of Dayton

DAYTON, February 2, 2013 - The Dayton Volunteer Fire Department and Dayton Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on US 90 just west of FM 1413 at 5:15 AM on Saturday.

According to Officer Holden of the Dayton Police Department a black Pontiac G-6 Convertible was traveling eastbound on US 90 toward Dayton when another vehicle encroached into it’s traffic lane. The driver of the Pontiac took evasive action, lost control and left the roadway to the right. The vehicle traveled through the ditch and rolled over near the fence line on the south side of the highway.

The Dayton Volunteer Fire Department closed both of the eastbound lanes of US 90 to establish a temporary landing zone for Life Flight who transported the driver of the Pontiac to Houston’s Hermann Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The driver of the Pontiac was identified as Rachael Elaine Horton age 24 of Dayton.
