Taste of Freedom Cut Short Early Sunday Morning

LIBERTY, May 26, 2013 - Another agency reported a possible drunk driver on Beaumont Ave and the City of Liberty Police were notified just after 1:00 AM on Sunday morning.

Officer Leo Cardenas on patrol with the department located a pickup matching the description of the one observed parked at the gas pumps at the Exxon Convenience Store at the intersection of US 90 and Wallisville Road.

The driver of the pickup was identified as Eric Hill age 22 of Liberty.

As Hill was taken into custody he called the Officers vulgar names, pronounced that his arrest was racially motivated due to his mixed race and proclaimed that he just got out of jail today on a state jail felony charge.

According to Officer William O’Hanlon, Officer Cardenas placed Eric Hill under arrest for Public Intoxication and transported him back to the Liberty County Jail.

Eric Hill's Criminal Conviction Record, according to DPS Crime Records Service, includes convictions for

  • Failure to ID as a Fugitive, Give False Information
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Theft of Material Alum/Brnze/Copper/Brass less that $20K
  • Assault Family Violence Impeding Breath/Circulation

Hill has also previously been in the custody of the Department of Criminal Justice Huntsville, TX.
