HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

LIBERTY, September 13, 2013 - TODAY AND TONIGHT THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT AS A FRONTAL BOUNDARY PUSHES INTO THE AREA FROM THE NORTHEAST. MOST OF THE ACTIVITY SHOULD BE WIDELY SCATTERED ALONG THE BOUNDARY AND LIKELY DISSIPATE BEFORE MIDNIGHT AS INSTABILITY AND DAY TIME HEATING IS LOST. SOME STORMS COULD BE STRONG WITH BRIEF HEAVY RAIN...LIGHTNING AND GUSTY WINDS. BEST CHANCES FOR STORMS WILL BE NORTH OF A COLLEGE STATION TO HUNTSVILLE LINE.

SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO RETURN SATURDAY AS A BACKDOOR COLD FRONT APPROACHES THE AREA FROM THE NORTHEAST. THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR ISOLATED STRONG STORMS GENERATING STRONG GUSTY WINDS SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

DEEP TROPICAL MOISTURE FROM TROPICAL DEPRESSION TEN MAY POSSIBLY MOVE INTO THE REGION LATE SUNDAY INTO MONDAY. THE TROPICAL MOISTURE WILL PERSIST OVER THE AREA FOR MOST OF NEXT WEEK. THIS WILL KEEP THUNDERSTORM CHANCES IN THE FORECAST EACH DAY WITH BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL POSSIBLE.
