HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

LIBERTY, June 28, 2013 - TODAY AND TONIGHT VERY WARM TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TODAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE LOWER 90S NEAR THE COAST TO 104 DEGREES WELL INLAND. DEW POINTS WILL MIX OUT IN THE AFTERNOON AND HUMIDITY VALUES WILL FALL BELOW 30 PERCENT WELL INLAND WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES BETWEEN 99 AND 103 DEGREES. CLOSER TO THE COAST...MAINLY EAST OF AN EDNA TO KATY TO CLEVELAND LINE...A WEAK SEA BREEZE CIRCULATION WILL DEVELOP AND DEW POINTS WILL RISE IN THE LATE AFTERNOON. THIS AREA WILL LIKELY EXPERIENCE HEAT INDEX VALUES BETWEEN 102 AND 108 DEGREES.

A WEAK BOUNDARY WILL APPROACH SOUTHEAST TEXAS FROM THE NORTH. THIS FEATURE COULD PRODUCE A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS EVENING NORTH OF A CALDWELL TO TRINITY LINE. ALTHOUGH THE PROBABILITY OF OCCURRENCE IS VERY SMALL...IF STORMS DO DEVELOP...THEY HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS.

SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY VERY WARM TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED AGAIN ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO EXCEED 100 DEGREES INLAND ON SATURDAY AND WARM INTO THE UPPER 90S ON SUNDAY. DRY AIR WILL ADVECT INTO THE AREA SO HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL REMAIN NEAR THE AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE. CLOSER TO THE COAST...WEST WINDS THROUGH THE EARLY AFTERNOON WILL ALLOW VERY WARM TEMPERATURES TO PREVAIL. DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON...THE SEA BREEZE WILL PUSH INLAND AND DEW POINTS WILL RISE. HEAT INDEX VALUES COULD BRIEFLY EXCEED 108 DEGREES ALONG THE COAST FOR A FEW HOURS LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON INTO SATURDAY EVENING.
