HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

LIBERTY, May 11, 2013 - TODAY AND TONIGHT THE NEXT UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE AND ASSOCIATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MOVING EASTWARD THROUGH THE UPPER TEXAS COASTAL WATERS THIS MORNING. THE STRONGER CELLS AND HEAVIER RAINFALL SHOULD MOSTLY BE SITUATED OFFSHORE. MARINERS CAN EXPECT STRONG WINDS AND LIGHTNING ASSOCIATED WITH THESE CELLS.

EXPECT A BREAK IN ACTIVITY BEHIND THIS MORNINGS DISTURBANCE.
AFTERNOON HEATING MAY TRIGGER ADDITIONAL SCATTERED SHOWER AND
THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT. THIS IS MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR SOUTH OF A
BRENHAM TO LIVINGSTON LINE. A FEW STORMS COULD BECOME STRONG WITH
HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS A POSSIBILITY. THE THREAT FOR WIDESPREAD
FLOODING DOES NOT APPEAR AS FAVORABLE AS PAST DAYS.

HOWEVER...LOCATIONS THAT RECEIVED THE LOCALIZED 4 TO 8 INCH RAINS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WILL BE MORE PRONE TO FLOODING PROBLEMS SHOULD ANY STRONG CELLS MOVE OVER THOSE SAME AREAS.

A DRIER AIRMASS WILL MOVE IN OVERNIGHT...ENDING THIS CURRENT
ACTIVE WEATHER PERIOD.
