HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

LIBERTY, October 19, 2013 - THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT A STALLED FRONTAL BOUNDARY IN THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL BEGIN TO PUSH NORTH TODAY AND TONIGHT AS A WARM FRONT. AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL ALSO MOVE OVER THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT WHICH SHOULD SUPPORT SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY MAINLY ALONG THE STALLED FRONTAL BOUNDARY. A COLD FRONT WILL ALSO BE PUSHING INTO THE AREA BY SATURDAY MORNING. THE MAIN HAZARD WILL BE BRIEF LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL MAINLY ALONG THE COAST WHERE RAINFALL TOTALS IN EXCESS OF AN INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE. THERE MAY BE A FEW STRONG STORMS ALONG THE COAST BUT THE SEVERE THREAT WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO WEAK INSTABILITY.

SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY ANOTHER COLD FRONT WILL PUSH THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING AND BRING AN END TO RAIN CHANCES. THE FRONT SHOULD AGAIN STALL IN THE GULF OF MEXICO AND BEGIN TO WORK NORTH AS A WARM FRONT AGAIN MONDAY MORNING. ANOTHER UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA AGAIN MONDAY AND SUPPORT THE POTENTIAL FOR LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL ALONG THE COAST AGAIN. LIKE THE FIRST RAIN EVENT...ANOTHER COLD FRONT WILL PUSH THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY WHICH WILL END RAIN CHANCES. ONCE AGAIN... LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE THE MAIN HAZARD ALONG THE COAST BUT MOST OF THE RAINFALL MAY FALL EAST OF THE AREA. ALSO THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WILL AGAIN BE LIMITED DUE TO THE LACK OF INSTABILITY.
