HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

LIBERTY, January 5, 2013 - TODAY AND TONIGHT A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION THIS MORNING. MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES CAN BE EXPECTED BEHIND THE FRONT. AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES AND VERY LOW WIND CHILLS IS EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING (ROUGHLY 9 TO 12 HOURS ACROSS INLAND LOCATIONS WITH LOWS GENERALLY IN THE LOWER TO MID 20S NORTH OF I-10 AND RIGHT AROUND FREEZING AT THE COAST). HARD FREEZE WARNINGS WILL LIKELY BE NEEDED. FOR THE COASTAL WATERS...STRONG NORTH WINDS WITH GUSTS POSSIBLY TO GALE FORCE CAN BE EXPECTED BEHIND THE FRONT.

MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY ANOTHER EXTENDED PERIOD OF BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR MONDAY EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING (ROUGHLY 12 TO 15 HOURS ACROSS INLAND LOCATIONS WITH LOWS GENERALLY IN THE MID TEENS TO AROUND 20 NORTH OF I-10 AND IN THE UPPER 20S TO AROUND 30 AT THE COAST). HARD FREEZE WARNINGS ARE LIKELY.

WARMER TEMPERATURES AND INCREASING RAIN CHANCES ARE ANTICIPATED FOR WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
